Ever wondered what an art history major wants to see before she dies? Sadly, most of them are unsafe for travel right now and maybe forever. Maybe that's why - because they are important to civilization. If you've ever been a tourist, you know it's an uncomfortable feeling. I see pictures of places I've been online and it's like hearing gossip about someone you love. Yes, it sort of looks like that but, no, that's not really it. That's not the whole picture. You're missing so much. The heart of what it is to be human, and know that where you've been is someone's home and now it's a little bit yours, too...
1. The Amazon (above) I suppose any rain forest would do but I'd like to see the ruins of Aztecs, Mayans or the Incas and probably Angel Falls, but mostly - I want to see this great river that millions have lived for and died on. I could go without an anaconda though. Thanks.
